Famous Victory

Last Friday night our Under 12 team travelled to Kenagh for the final of the U12 Cup Group 4 where they took on Wolfe Tones Óg from Edgeworthstown. In their group both teams played six games resulting in identical result sequence winning four games and drawing 2. The two games that were drawn were when they played each other so we knew going into Friday night’s game that this was going to be a close encounter between two evenly matched teams.

Things turned out as expected with the lead going to and fro all through. There was a wonderful dedication and no lack of skill and determination throughout both sides and those in attendance were high in their praise of both sides. Amazingly almost all of the panel are all underage for Under 12 again next year.

After a terrific game our young Under 12’s emerged victorious on a scoreline of 24 points to 21 proving this was a game of high intensity and tempo.

Our managers of Stephen Rooney and James Casey (Carrowstrawley) had the lads primed to a tee and it is a great credit to both men that the panel are such a skilful and talented side. Well done lads.

The panel was led by captain Liam Rhatigan was Evan Rooney, Dan Casey, Callum Farrell, John Farrell, Diarmuid Hanley, Rian Shanley, Mikey Sorohan, Rian Hogan, Alfie Murphy, Tim Kenny, Oisín Dillon, Shane Farrell, Sean O’Dowd, Alex Mc Dermott, Josh Curran, Stephen Farrell and Jack Cassidy.

The club would like to thank Michelle Mulvey for an excellent refereeing performance and the Wolfe Tones Óg team for another cracking performance.

On Saturday next 10th at 12noon our Under 16 team will play their semi-final in Kenagh against opponents unknown at the time of writing. We wish the lads the very best of luck.

Good Luck

We would like to wish our near neighbours Killashee the very best of luck on Saturday in their rearranged Intermediate Championship Final.
